Discharge Instruction Sheet

1. Activity as tolerated

2. Weightbearing with walker

3. Aspirin 325mg twice a day for 30 days

4. Wear Compression stockings bilaterally for 3-4 weeks

5. Wear knee immobilizer at night for 3-4 weeks (only Dr Fagan’s patients)

6. May shower 5 days post-op

7. Remove bandage 48 hours after surgery – keep a clean bandage on until post-op visit

8. Incentive spirometer 10 times every hour, during waking hours for 1 week

9. Ice packs as needed (no longer than 20 minutes at a time). Do not apply directly to skin. May use a towel to protect skin.

10. No driving until cleared by surgeon
